On the revelations, the Governmment spent £15m on consultants when awarding the contract to Siemens:

"This is astonishing - Bombardier workers have been kicked in the teeth enough as it is. To discover this rotten Government spent £15m on consultants to eventually give the contract to a German company adds insult to injury. It's disgraceful."
