To The Editor,
Dear Sir,
I would like to make it clear my comments expressing concern over the future of Aquascutum in Corby were not aimed at prospective buyers Cooper and Stollbrand.
My quotes in your report Big Interest In Ailing Company, (April 24, 2012), were submitted to your reporter on Friday before I had any knowledge of Cooper and Stollbrand's interest.
At that point, I was merely making a general statement about how I hoped the firm, would not simply open up elsewhere, or worse still, abroad.
I have clarified my position with James Eden, of Cooper and Stollbrand, and would like the opportunity for this letter to clarify the situation with your readers too.
Yours sincerely,
Derek Clark, MEP for Corby
